Analysis and Residual Behavior of Encased Pultruded GFRP I-Beam under Fire Loading

In this paper, fire resistance and residual capacity tests were carried out on encased pultruded glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) I-beams with high-strength concrete beams. The specimens loaded concurrently under 25% of the ultimate load exposure (an increase in temperature 700 °C) for 70 min. Subsequently, fire-damaged allowed to cool then statically until failure explore behaviors. effects using shear connectors web stiffeners behavior investigated. Finite Element (FE) analysis was developed simulate GFRP effect loading. thermal analyses performed general-purpose FE ABAQUS package. This simulation considered material geometric nonlinearities constitutive models materials. results showed good agreement experimental data. peak corresponding mid-span deflection obtained 5% 4% higher than those results. validated model utilized influence tensile strength compressive post-fire flexural I-beams. beams kept loads.
